The education of undocumented immigrants, currently a topic of debate in New York State, is in the headlines today.  The Los Angeles Times tells the story of an undocumented student’s experience in the education system.  Radio Colorado College reports on a Denver college’s introduction of a new tuition rate for undocumented immigrants.

A St. Louis columnist relates the chilling tale of how an undocumented man’s attempt to gain legal status landed him with a deportation order.  The International Business Times examines the policy behind the rise in deportations under the Obama administration.  CBS News has a new poll on Americans’ support for the Arizona immigration law.  CNN’s Global Public Square blog has a piece by Phillip Legrain on why America needs immigrants.

In local New York City news, at Elmhurst hospital in Queens, a Korean-speaking man was caught trying to charge non-English-speaking immigrants for translation services, which is against the law, according to the New York Daily News.  Vos Iz Neias has a story on one city councilman’s attempt to bring Orthodox Jews into the political process.  Finally, Irish Echo previews the upcoming cultural events this summer throughout the Northeast.
