Last weekend in Texas a truck carrying 23 undocumented immigrants crashed outside San Antonio, killing 15 people.  The probable cause of the crash has now been determined according to the Huffington Post.  The accident was one of the worst immigrant smuggling disasters in U.S. history according to the Associated Press.

President Obama’s decision allowing young undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children to stay and work in the country will have a hefty price tag.  The Associated Press reports that processing requests under the president’s plan could costs nearly $600 million, requiring the government to hire more staff.

In Arizona, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio took the stand in his own defense in a civil trial over allegations that his department engaged in racial profiling against Latinos.

Latina Lista reports on how the Affordable Care Act will affect the Latino community, as well as the fact that Latinos and African Americans are overwhelmingly more in favor of gun control than other groups, yet seem to be singled out on gun ownership applications.

New York Assemblywoman Grace Meng, a candidate for Congress whom we have covered before, is back in the news.  Her father, former Assemblyman Jimmy Meng, was arrested for accepting a bribe, according to DNAInfo.com.
