Protection: A Photographic Look at Immigrant Life in Britain

Protection from Dimple Patel on Vimeo.

In an attempt to reconcile feelings of sadness and anger towards her parents, Kajal Nisha Patel uses her photography to explore the expectations, duty, love and modesty, which color her everyday life as a British-born Asian woman. Kajal attempts to understand the emotional disconnection she feels from those who mean the most to her.

Her observations are captured through sacred moments of physical, emotional and social contact between family members, especially, mothers and their children.
